In order to heal Chloë must face her most frightening challenge yet, giving Finn a second chance.
~ MY REVIEW ~
This is the second book in the Central Coven series and was packed with much more action than the first book. Chloë, Finn, Anita and Dean are still at it. Trying to protect each other from this war that is raging on.
I liked that we get to know a little bit more of Grey in this one and get inside his head. We are introduced to some new characters amongst the new refugee. Chloë and Finn still struggle with their feelings for each other and whether they have a forever future together. I kept thinking 'really we're back to this. Get it together', while Anita and Dean are secure in their relationship and are madly in love. The characters really grow and develop in this book becoming much more mature and their friendship grows stronger.
Each of the main characters had their own POV, which was great. It was easier to follow along in this book and made it that much more enjoyable to read. This one was also more New Adult as on top of more action, it was also filled with more emotion, more passion and desire. I really enjoyed reading this book.

Finn exhaled forcefully, like he had been holding his breath for a long time. I looked into his electric-blue eyes and saw nervousness melt to relief.
He squeezed my hand. “I could wait forever for you or take this as slow as you need as long as I know that you are here with me. I just needed to know that you are as committed to giving us a chance as I am.”
I smiled at him, a little bit of wickedness playing across my lips.
I placed my hand on his left shoulder and slowly it brushed across his chest to his right shoulder. His eyes began to glow, and then they darkened to a deeper blue. Hmm, it wasn’t only my eyes that changed. Good to know.
“You could wait forever, could you?” I taunted in a husky, low voice.
“Ugh,” he grunted.
I laughed, taking in his tortured expression and tense muscles.
“You are a little evil,” he rasped.
“No, baby. I promise I’m very good, and I don’t want to wait forever. Just a little bit longer,” I whispered.
“Get your sexy ass in the car before I toss you in the back seat and say the fuck with waiting,” Finn growled.
I licked my lips and thought about taunting him a little more, but the flash of his eyes signaled the end of his self-control. I scrambled into the passenger’s seat and buckled up.
Finn waited in the same spot for a long moment. He shook his head like he was clearing out an image and walked around the car, chuckling. “Good choice, but the other way could have been more fun.”
“Oh, it will be. Just not tonight,” I promised.

~ MY REVIEW ~
This was such a cute, fun read with the twist of paranormal romance. Chloë is an eighteen year old venturing off to college to try and gain the experience of living life as a normal human. However, being a witch and capable of being the most powerful witch known that is likely not to happen. She immediately befriends Finn, Anita and Dean and soon find that they are all of supernatural as well.
Trouble starts brewing and students start to disappear. The four of them stick together to try and figure out what is going on while still trying to learn and accept who and what they are. Vampires are among them and they are starting a war.
Although I liked the plot I struggled with how I felt about this. I found it to be more on the YA side and unfortunately editing issues really bug me and there were a few of those. Also, it was confusing at times because it would have more than one character involved in a conversation but the paragraph just flowed and it was hard to keep track of who was saying what.
It was an enjoyable read with fiesty, smart, beautiful, sexy and funny characters. I laughed more than a few times because they were just funny with the shit they said joking and teasing each other. Overall, it had potential and was filled with action, a love triangle and sweet young love. I was looking forward to reading book two to find out what happens next.
