Ok, so I wasn't sure how this story would play out because of the events that led up to this couple separating in the first place. I am soooo in love with Frankie and Aaron. I'm such a sucker for this author's work because her stories are always filled with so much emotion and positive messages. Don't judge a book by it's cover and don't judge a person by their past. 

This couple not only has to overcome the issues within themselves but the judgement from family and friends. They were so determined to not only prove to each other that things were going to be different the second time around but to everyone else. I loved how these were issues that people can, have and will eventually struggle through in real life. So it made this story all the more eye opening and heartwarming to see Frankie and Aaron make the effort with the help, support and guidance from each other and their devoted love for each other to overcome past mistakes and truly make it work. 

I love love love how this author showcases each of these characters strengths and flaws. Not just one is to blame and both take responsibility for the things that happened in the past. The character development was so well written it was like watching these transform into these two beautiful souls and reach for there well deserved HEA and my heart warmed with so much pride. Aaron and Frankie just had so much love for each other. I was really rooting for Aaron. Yes, I was a little wary in the beginning but it was just so obvious how much he loved Frankie and the pain, guilt and remorse he had for the things he'd done just about broke my heart. 

This truly was an amazingly beautiful journey between two men who learn forgiveness, growth, trust and love from within and for each other. An absolutely amazing second chance story that will give you all the FEELS!!! I loved that Felice Stevens doesn't make this book so super heavy. It's a great balance between the angst, the drama, sexy times, and humor. A pure magical journey that had me captivated from the very first page. There are so many secondary characters that have me so intrigued so I can't wait to see what else Ms. Stevens has in store for this series.

I have always been a romantic at heart. I believe that while life is tough, there is always a happy ending around the corner, my characters have to work for it, however. Like life in NYC, nothing comes easy and that includes love.

I live in New York City with my husband and two children and hopefully soon a cat of my own. My day begins with a lot of caffeine and ends with a glass or two of red wine. I practice law but daydream of a time when I can sit by a beach somewhere and write beautiful stories of men falling in love. Love me some Felice Stevens but I’m not so sure I’m a fan right now. This is not a bad thing, lol. I knew this was a cliffy but GOOD GAWD!!! What a fucking tease! Lol….Felice how can you do this to me?! I need the next book STAT!

Austin is fierce and independent. You can tell he’s going to be a hand full and has some sass to him. I am so damn intrigued about this Rhoades guy!! He’s intense but very gentle and caring when it comes to Austin and it’s like…. WHO IS HE??? WHERE DID HE COME FROM? WHAT DOES HE WANT FROM AUSTIN? GAH!!!!! I need more, I need more, I. Need. More. We get a taste at how steamy things can get between Austin and Rhoades. Phew!

This is like the ultimate tease into the start of this series. It’s a super quick read where we get to know the start of Austin because I get the feeling there is still soooo much more to come and knowing this author it’s going to be an emotional ride. Bring it on Ms. Stevens. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for these two.

EXCERPT

I lifted my chin. “I’m sorry, but customers aren’t allowed in here. You have to leave.”

Ignoring my statement, he closed the door behind him and stood, his face impassive, expression hard and fierce as if hacked out of granite.

“Did he hurt you?”

The softness of his voice surprised me. It didn’t reconcile with his large, imposing presence. Forgetting my previous statement, I gazed up at him from my seat, and not wishing to be at a disadvantage, stood.

“You saw what happened?”

“I did.” A twinkle lit his startling blue eyes. “You handled it perfectly.”

“Fucking asshole. He’s lucky I didn’t kick him harder.”

“The kitten has claws, I see.”

A smile curved his stern mouth, and he looked younger and impossibly attractive. A rush of desire hit me, but I couldn’t fall prey to it or him.

“I’m not a kitten, and if you think I need a protector, you can forget it. I can take care of myself.” I’d had to all my life.

“I don’t want to be your protector.” Fire replaced the smile in his eyes. “Did you like what I sent you?” He licked his lips. “Are you wearing it?”

I should have been scared. Being alone with him here could be dangerous, even though my instinct told me he’d never hurt me. But whether to listen to my body or my heart, I hadn’t yet decided. Wordlessly, I took several steps until I stood only a few feet in front of him. I peeled back the top of my shorts, exposing the frothy lace. The sparkling crystals caught the light. He reached out with a finger, then halted in midair.

“May I?”

My dick shifted in my thin shorts, and though it was impossible not to notice my rising desire, he waited for my response.

“No.”
