Prescription for love 3Dlarge

BLURB

What should’ve been an ordinary emergency call turned out to be something extraordinary.

Wanting to distance himself from his toxic parents, Trent Love moved to the quaint town of Blissville to begin a new life. What he finds is blazing chemistry with a hunky fireman who breathes new life into him.

Fearing they’re too different, Tucker attempts to extinguish the spark between them before it can ignite. How could a simple man like him compete with Trent’s life of wealth and privilege? Knowing you shouldn’t want something doesn’t make it go away, and Tucker’s desire for Trent continues to smolder.

Unwilling to accept their relationship is dead on arrival, Trent puts his resuscitation skills to good use. All he wants is a chance to prove he values Tucker’s wealth of character over meaningless material things.  What do you get when you mix fire and oxygen: a five-alarm fire or a prescription for love?

Trent’s commitment to freeing himself from poisonous ties kindles a chain of events that have devastating consequences for both men. Is a relationship forged in fire strong enough to overcome these obstacles or is their love doomed to be just another bitter pill to swallow?

Prescription for love is a small-town, opposites-attract romance. It is the seventh book in the Road to Blissville series but reads like a standalone book. It contains sexually explicit material intended for adults 18 and older.

REVIEW
4 1/2 STARS!

We're back in Blissville and my heart is full! Trent and Tucker's journey had me smiling from ear to ear. I absolutely love this world Aimee Nicole Walker has created and all the characters that have evolved in it.

Trent and Tucker are super sweet and sexy. I loved that they both knew what they wanted from the start and didn't waste any time in showing each other or expressing their feelings and wants. It worked well for them and the author did a really great job of making it come across genuine and not cheesy and forced. You could feel the genuine want and desire from both MC's.

I truly enjoyed reading this book and loved the low angst and passion throughout the story. I love this author's writing and can't wait to read the next lucky couple she breathes life to.

EXCERPT

“There’s no way I can watch you squat in those shorts and not get a hard-on.” Trent had been nothing but honest with me, so I gave it right back to him. “We’ll work on our upper body today.”

Even with Trent looking deliciously sweaty, I was able to find my zone and work my shoulders, arms, back, and core abdominal muscles. Lifting weights was my version of yoga. I found my Zen and the endorphins pumping through my body would improve my mood and motivate me to keep moving throughout the day. Only when we returned to the locker room did I realize those mood-lifting hormones also amped up my libido.

“Did you want to shower here before we go to breakfast or wait until I drop you off at home?”

Trent looked over his shoulder at the shower room, which had both an open shower area and private stalls for those preferring privacy. We could so easily fit inside one of those stalls and—

“We better wait,” he said, wiping his body down to remove the sweat glistening on his skin. Damn, I wanted to lick him. A little bit of sweat didn’t turn me off at all, but he might think it was gross.

“Yeah, I want to lick you all over too,” Trent said, correctly reading the expression on my face. “And I will…someday.”

“Tease,” I groused.

#PrideMonth - New Review - UNBROKEN by Sloane Kennedy

Title: Unbroken
Author: Sloane Kennedy
Series: The Protectors #12
Genre: M/M Romance
Publication Date: May 2, 2018

~ BLURB ~

Everything was supposed to go back to normal when I was rescued. It hasn't. And I'm starting to think it never will because I don't even know what normal is anymore...
It's been two years since Aleks Silva was rescued by his older brother from the dark underworld of sex trafficking and every day since then has been a battle. Leaving the house, interacting with people, even doing something as boring as deciding what clothes to wear or what to eat for breakfast are tasks that most people take for granted. But for Aleks, they're torture. Because freedom and choice are things that once came at a steep price and survival meant submitting to the whims of those who only saw him as a possession and plaything.

Until there was one man who saw him as something more...

I knew from the moment I saw him that I was going to get him out. But I also knew once I did, I'd need to let him go...
He's known as Vaughn and nothing more. His job is to make sure secrets don't get out and the possessions he's been tasked with guarding never escape and tell their story. After eight years in a world where innocent kids are used to feed the darkest of depravities, Vaughn has seen things that would break even the strongest man. But he's played it smart and built up a wall between himself and the darkness that threatens to consume him.

It wasn't until he met a young man who had to be a thousand times stronger to survive the life he was forced into as a child that the first crack appeared in his carefully constructed wall.

Vaughn's only job was to make sure young Aleks Silva remained the ugly little secret of one of the most powerful men in Chicago. It was one job he was more than happy to fail at, and when he eliminated the threat against Aleks and set him free, he was sure their paths would never cross again.

But fate has other plans...

Vaughn is the only man from my other life who never had a starring role in my nightmares... but he's been in every one of my dreams. And I don't know why...
When Aleks is suddenly abducted after leaving work one quiet spring evening, he's certain he'll never see his brother and family again. But terror quickly turns to relief when a familiar face once again comes to his rescue, along with all the feelings he's always had but never quite understood around the dangerous, older Vaughn. Certain that Vaughn will make everything okay again like he did once before, Aleks knows he doesn't even need to ask Vaughn to take him home. But when he does anyway, nothing he's ever experienced prepares him for Vaughn's answer... or the brutal betrayal that comes along with it.

I'm sorry, Aleks, I can't do that.

Trigger Warning: Sexual Assault Against a Minor

*Can be read as a standalone novel but if you have not read any books in this series, you may want to at least read Book 6, Atonement, first. Atonement is the story of Aleks's brother, Dante, and both brothers appear in each other's books so it is helpful to know their backstories.

The Protectors series crosses over with some of my other series, so for the most enjoyment, they should be read in order, but it is not required. You can find the correct reading order at the beginning of each book. I've also bundled all my series in the correct reading order under the title of A Family Chosen: The Protectors and Barrettis.

How do you continuously express your thoughts on an author that continuously amazes you book after book? I’m so in love with this series, these characters, this world, this ever-growing family and this author’s ability to create such phenomenal stories. Sloane Kennedy is without a doubt my go to author when I need hot and heavy, drama and angst, adventure, action and emotion. Sloane Kennedy is that author I know that will not let me down because her amazing talent and words is just pure BRILLIANT!! Aleks and Vaughn are now added to that ever growing list!

Good lawd…this book was so heartbreaking and filled with so much emotion and turmoil. Aleks definitely broke me. The things he endured and the struggles he lives with are just heartbreaking. His strength to survive and his bravery to help others like him will tug at those heart strings. He’s one that definitely deserves his HEA. Then we have Vaughn. The man you want to hate but I just couldn’t. The circumstances he finds himself in certainly aren’t ideal and I truly wanted to hate him for bringing Aleks back into the darkness but I couldn’t help but feel for him as well. The struggle between family and love; what’s right but feels wrong, dedication, loyalty and protectiveness. This man has it all and yet it’s just impossible not to love him.

This book is so damn emotional. I cried probably 80% of the book, lol. Happy tears, sad tears, devastating tears. I just cried. Sloane Kennedy has that ability to tear you apart and make you feel every emotion throughout. Her words will give you all the FEELS! Her characters will steal your HEART! And you will absolutely CRAVE the next journey! This book is just yet another reminder of why I’m such a fan of this author. Another fantastic read that leaves your heart satisfied and content until the next one.

~ ABOUT THE AUTHOR ~

Although Sloane Kennedy always dreamed of being a writer as a teenager, she didn't take the plunge until March of 2015 when she released her first novel as an independent author. Since then, she has released more than a dozen books including the Amazon best-selling "Barretti Security" series, "Finding" series and "Protectors" series. While she initially began writing M/F romance, she found her true passion writing gay romance and all four of her most recent releases reached the #1 spot on Amazon's Gay Romance bestseller list and Freeing Zane, her final book in the Barretti Security series, made it to Amazon's overall bestseller list. Sloane was born in Germany and grew up in Virginia and Wisconsin.

Although she currently lives in Wisconsin, the place where she has always felt most at home is Seattle and many of her books take place in the Emerald city. Although she is unmarried, a menagerie of 2 dogs and 3 cats keeps her busy enough and 3 young nieces take care of the rest of her free time. A brand new contemporary romance from New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and USA Today bestselling author Katy Evans is AVAILABLE NOW!

He's my most delicious secret.
The hot Suit I had a one-night stand with one evening.
I didn't know anything about him, not even his name.
Only that we shared a taxi, and he was staying at the hotel where I worked.
We met in room 301. Where he commanded not only my body but my soul.
The next day he was gone and I only had a memory of him.
I could still taste his kisses, feel his demanding touch.
I searched for him for months. Daydreaming about him. Wondering if I'd ever find him.
Until the day I find myself staring face to face with his jeweled black eyes again.
He says lets keep it casual, and my heart knows that falling for this workaholic in a three-thousand-dollar suit is off the table.
Because he has a secret. One that's a deal breaker for me.
My Suit has a name.
Ian Ford.
And this is our story.

Ian motherfucking Ford ladies and gentlemen!!!! GAH! An alpha who knows what he wants and has a dirty mouth……………Uh, YES PLEASE! This book starts off hot and heavy. Ms. Evans was pulling her guns right out of the gate with this one.

Ian and Sara’s journey was definitely hot, sexy and steamy. There were some aspects to the story that I was kinda like “Eh”, which kept me from giving it a full out five stars. I liked the concept of the book and I remember Sara being a little out there and bold from Tycoon and I really liked her character. These two couldn’t have fit each other more perfectly. However, I thought the story went really fast. There is no build up, there is no emotionally drawn out drama. Yes, there are some issues they go through but nothing monumental or heartbreaking. I was just hoping for a little bit more in depth emotion.

Nonetheless, I loved the story because I mean….HELLO!!! ….Ian, yummy motherfucker, Ford! AH! That man had my panties in a twist. I was swoonin so hard for all his alphaness and the things that man said….phew!! HOTT DAMN!

This was a great read and it was very well written. Katy Evans always manages to grab your attention and suck you right in with these steamy guys and the variety of her female characters. I love that she changes them up and not all of them are all “woe is me”. Sara is badass. I love her boldness, determination and confidence. Katy Evans delivers a great read that will leave you with a smile on your face. I can’t wait to see who her next sexy alpha man is coming next that will knock Becka down on her knees!! ;)

Excerpt:

My eyes lock on a third figure sitting with them. As I near, the man glances my way before quickly shifting his gaze. I continue to stare at him as I approach, and it doesn’t take long for his gaze to return to me. His large figure rises to full height as he stands to greet me, and I feel a bolt of electricity hit me in the chest as familiar eyes stare back at me.
He’s tall. Dark-haired. Gorgeous. With deep, thick-lashed eyes you want to sink into. And lips to suck on like they’re all that exists between you and heaven. I stop walking, stop breathing, because . . . he is here.
A moment passes and Bryn seems to notice my shock.
But shock doesn’t come close to it.
Because never in my whole life has my heart leapt so far and fast. It feels as if it’s ripping out of my chest. I can barely force my legs to move for fear of hearing my knees knock together. I struggle for air, but it feels like someone cut off my windpipe connecting my nose and lungs.
He wears a white dress shirt and black slacks, and his face is chiseled and brooding. The real shock lies in the intensity brewing in his dark eyes as they stay locked on mine. My heart speeds up as I hold his gaze. The city bustles around us. Making eye contact is not something I do often, living in a city of millions, but I can’t take my eyes off him.
The memory of having him inside me returns with a vengeance.
Bryn begins to introduce us. “Um. Ian, this is—”
“Sara. We’ve met,” Hot and Dirty Workaholic interrupts with a stiff smile.
Our eyes meet, and for a moment it feels like nothing else exists.
His name is Ian.
Fucking Ian, with his serious, handsome face and shiny, black hair. He’s as lit as I remember. Straight out of a Suits episode, and I am dying.

Rhoades.
Loneliness. The pain doesn’t simply go away with time. It’s been years, and they tell me I need to move on. But I can’t.

Blame and regret are my constant companions. Until I see him in the spotlight and everything changes. Night after night, I watch him dance. Thinking about him.

What he’d feel like.

What he’d taste like.

And now that I know, I want him even more.

And maybe…just maybe, he might want me too.

But not yet.

Not before he knows he’s more than a pretty face. Not before he knows what he means to me. I need him by my side.

The two of us.

Together.

Austin
Why can’t I forget him? His hands touching me. His mouth on mine. Kissing me.

Rendering me mindless.

Breathless.

Every night I lay awake burning for him. Dreaming. Thinking. Needing him.

No—I don’t. I don’t need anyone.

I lie.

I want him.

I want more. I am more. He’s seen that, and now here I stand with my dream on the horizon. All I need to do is take that first step. Trust him.

Trust myself.

REVIEW
4.5 Stars

I love a book that can frustrate you yet give you the warm and fuzzies in the span of seconds. That's what Rhoades and Austin's journey did to me and I loved every second of it. Page after page I kept getting more and more captivated by these amazing characters and their story.

Felice Stevens is that author for me where I know without fail I'm going to be feeling the emotions throughout the book. Her ability to convey her characters emotions and allows the reader to not only read it but FEEL it shows just how amazingly talented this author is.

Rhoades and Austin both had issues and insecurities to work through. And though, yes at times they were both stubborn and frustrating, I loved that they were both able to stay true to themselves while still allowing their vulnerability and their connection to each other help them overcome their internal battles. While trying to fight the inevitable, their attraction to each other was just so palpable it's like you could almost feel the sexual tension rolling off the pages.

These two guys were just absolutely adorable. I loved that the author didn't make Rhoades out to be this rich overbearing dominant. He was respectful, gentle, caring and yet still exuded that intense sexiness. And I just adored Austin with his strength and determination to make and be a better version of himself.

I loved this book and the secondary characters that capture your attention. This was a great read and I cannot wait for the next book in this series.

EXCERPT

Fuck. I could kill Marcus. But I couldn’t refuse, and he knew it. Rhoades held me, but not too close, and after some initial hesitancy, I allowed myself to feel the music.

Rhoades’s breath touched my cheek, and I smelled the heat of the scotch he drank. It was like the night we kissed all over again, and I swayed, desire clawing at my insides. Why did being in close proximity to this man make me light-headed and restless?

“How are you?”

“Fine,” I managed to speak. The club had taken on a sensuous glow, and the people beside us faded to black. All I could see was Rhoades.

“So you work in a dance studio? I should’ve guessed by your dancing at Man Up that you had formal training. You move beautifully.”

“I’ve worked there for a while. We teach kids four-to-nine years old. I love it.”

“And is that what you’d like to do? Teach dance? I know you can’t want to dance at Man Up for long.”

“All these questions.” I shifted nervously. I wasn’t about to reveal my dream to him. He’d no doubt find it foolish—maybe even as stupid as my father had. “I thought we were just going to dance.”

“Very well.” He said nothing more, and we danced, our bodies brushing. His effect on me was magnetic, his touch a force pulling me in close. I concentrated on his face: the small lines fanning out from his eyes, the dark brows like wings, his firm mouth. The taste of his lips lingered on my tongue, as bright and pure as if we were kissing now. I found it impossible to be near Rhoades and not crave his touch. Somehow I’d moved closer to him, and our cheeks touched.

“I wondered if I’d see you again after you didn’t show up this past week. I didn’t think you came to these types of clubs.”

“Do you think of me, then?” His hand slid up my back and splayed between my shoulder blades. I didn’t mind that possessive touch.…I wanted it.

“I…”

“I think of you.” His whispered voice filled my ear with a roar. “After I left you last week, I stayed away like you asked, but I couldn’t sleep at night. Do you want to know why?”

I found myself nodding. We’d stopped dancing, though he continued to hold me, and we swayed together, caught up in our own world.

“I don’t know. Isn’t that crazy? You know I’ve watched you at James’s club. From the first, you caught me with your confidence—you owned the stage—but I also saw something yearning in you. That it wasn’t enough. You want more.”

His hands rested on my hips, and we stood chest-to-chest. The music played on, its sensuous beat rolling through me. I could smell desire in the air.

“Yes.”

The tips of his fingers trailed over my cheek and jaw in a gesture so achingly intimate, I fought to keep standing. Finally he put his mouth on mine, and we kissed. No thrusting tongues and panting breaths. Only a gentle press of lips…and it shocked me that a man who radiated such strength could carry this tenderness inside him.

“Keep true to yourself. Follow your dreams. Only you can make them real.”

And with one last kiss, he walked away and disappeared into the crowd before I found time to take a breath. I thought about going after him but stopped myself. He was doing what I asked. Giving me the space I’d demanded. I had already told him I wouldn’t fuck him in a club, and he remembered and respected that. Another man might’ve tried to persuade me with drinks or force. Rhoades wasn’t the man I thought.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Felice Logo

Felice Stevens has always been a romantic at heart. While life is tough, she believes there is a happy ending for everyone. She started reading traditional historical romances as a teenager, then life and law school got in the way. It wasn't until she picked up a copy of Bertrice Small and became swept away to Queen Elizabeth's court that her interest in romance novels was renewed.

But somewhere along the way, her reading shifted to stories of men falling in love. Once she picked up her first gay romance, she became so enamored of the character-driven stories and the overwhelming emotion there was no turning back.

Felice lives in New York City with her husband and two children. Her day begins with a lot of caffeine and ends with a glass or two of red wine. Although she practices law, she daydreams of a time when she can sit by a beach and write beautiful stories of men falling in love. Although there is bound to be some angst along the way, a Happily Ever After is always guaranteed.
