Review

Angela Stephens is a strong and caring woman. She takes the high road. After learning of her husband cheating and having a family without her, she finds herself facing a situation where she most definitely lifts her chin up and becomes the bigger person. Her husband, or soon-to-be ex-husband, Christopher, ends up in a car accident and faces a sudden tragedy of loss, Angela steps in and takes care of everything. 

Angela and Logan face some misunderstandings but when Logan loves he loves deep. He will not give up. Logan wants Angela. And he wants her forever.

Logan Black is absolutely swoon worthy. He knows exactly what to say and when to say it. There is no doubt that these two are in love. They have each other and their close friends and family. I love Angela's best friend, Tabitha, she is hysterical and the things that she says will literally make you LOL. 

Love the story from beginning to end. Well written story and a great set of characters. This series is a definitely one to add to your TBR list. What a perfect ending to Angela and Logan's story.

~ Excerpt ~

Logan places two fingers from his right hand onto my lips, “Shh…I don’t want to talk about Christopher or anyone associated with him,” he states, as he leans down and kisses me.

The intensity of the kiss starts to build as I run my hands up the back of his neck and intertwine them in his hair.

 Logan lets a low moan escape from his throat. Just as my legs start to become weak, he breaks our connection, saying “Not here. When I have you inside my place, I’ll give you a proper welcome.”

“I’m looking forward to it Mr. Black,” I say breathlessly. As I finish, the doors beep open.

“Come on,” he says, pulling me forward and into the foyer. I look around and the area is all Logan. Black marble tile lines the floor, the walls are almost an off-white. I notice some black and white prints spaced along the walls. I think I’ll examine them further after I’m settled in and have time to fully enjoy the beauty of the art work.

Logan pushes open one side of the engraved double doors and gestures for me to enter first. I take a few steps into the foyer, then hear a click of the door behind me. I go to turn, but before I can, Logan has both hands around my waist backing me up against the strong doors. I can’t move back any further as he has me pressed against those doors. His hard body pushes against me.

“Now, I can welcome you home the proper way,” is the last thing I hear before his lips are back on mine.

My Rating: 4.5 out of 5 Stars 

I went in thinking ok, I know how this is going to play out....yea, not what I expected. Although, I was right about some of what I was thinking considering Angela's husband was obviously cheating on her but I did not see the little twist in there coming. You'll have to read it to find out what I'm talking about :)

Angela can't shake her attraction for Logan but she is determined to save her marriage. She is ready to slow down and start a family. After months of not seeing Christopher, he is finally home and they get to spend a rare night at home together but then he drops a bomb on her. Angela is totally blindsided and hurt by the harsh reality that is her marriage and sends Christopher packing. 

What happens when your hurt and the one man who you can't get out of your head comforts you at the time most needed?  

Great story, strong set of characters, held my attention from beginning to end.  Perfect follow up to book one. Cliffhanger like WHOA! and I am looking forward to reading the next one because I am just dying to know what comes next!!!!

Excerpt

“Angela!” He calls out and I can’t respond. I’ve somewhat pulled myself together and if I speak now to him, I know it’ll all let lose once again. 

“Honey, what happened?” He says while he squats down next to me and places a hand on my shoulder. 

“Logan, why are you here? Please, I can’t deal with you right now.” Speaking into my hands so I don’t have to make eye contact with him, especially since all I’ve dreamt of are those chocolate brown eyes. I know deep down if I look now, I’m done. Logan Black holds all the cards, and currently he has a full house while I have a pair of three’s.  

“Angela, talk to me. Tell me what I can do to make it better?” 

“No. I don’t want to talk to you about this. You can make it better by leaving like I’ve asked. Why are you even here?” I whisper as I turn my head to look towards him. His expression is so sincere. He looks as though he feels my pain and tiredness. Like he hasn’t slept. 

“I’m not leaving you like this. We’ll talk later about why I’m here. Now, point me in the direction of your bedroom.” 

“Really? You want to take me to my bedroom. Are you that insensitive to what I might be going through? I've just had everything in my life turned upside down and you want to take me to my bedroom?” I bark, furious that he would even ask me something like that. He reaches down and scoops me up into his arms. “Put me down now!” 

“Honey, let me take care of you. I’m not taking you to bed yet. I’m going to draw you a bath and then we’ll go to bed, but not like you think,” he whispers into my ear. 

“Um hum,” is the only noise I can manage. I wrap my hands around his neck, laying my head down onto his shoulder. Inhaling deeply, I take in Logan’s scent, which is like no other. A woodsy outdoor mixed with fresh soap. His smell alone makes me feel safe. How can one feel safe with a stranger? Standing me upright in the middle of my master bathroom, he turns the faucets on over the large garden tub, and flips the switch to plug the drain.

~ Review ~

Love the story line and characters. Angela is a strong, career driven, independent woman. 

Angela and her husband, Christopher, both travel a lot for work and it seems that it's starting to take it's toll on their marriage. Angela is thinking about slowing down to spend more time with her husband and possibly start a family. 

But what happens when you're attracted to a complete stranger and your marriage isn't quite what it's supposed to be. 

I loved the characters in this story. Angela the strong, successful business woman. Tabitha the quirky supportive assistant/best friend. And love love love Logan a.k.a. Mr. Bartender ;) 

Logan is sexy and demanding. He knows what he wants and he's very persistent. This is a great quick read that left me wanting to jump right into the next book.
