I am very excited to be featuring this series! It’s got some
great feedback and G.J. Walker-Smith does not disappoint….
Saving Wishes (Wishes #1)
Synopsis
*** iBooks Best Of 2013 AU/NZ
Breakout Book Of The Year***
For Charli Blake, being seventeen is a tough
gig.
She's been branded a troublemaker, her reputation
is in tatters and she's stuck in Pipers Cove, a speck of a town on the coast of
Tasmania.
Thankfully, it's temporary. Her lifelong dream
of travelling the world is just months away from becoming reality. All she has
to do is ride out the last few months of high school, which is easier said than
done thanks to a trio of mean girls known as The Beautifuls.
When Adam Décarie arrives in town, all the way
from New York, life takes an unexpected turn. His arrival sets off a chain of
events that alters her life forever, convincing her of one thing. Fate brought
him to her.
Saving Wishes is the story of a girl who doesn't quite fit the life
she's living, and the boy who helps her realise why.
Review
I absolutely love Charli!! This girl is a dreamer and she has the best outlook on life. Witty, Spunky and Funny, this seventeen year old is ready to break free and explore the world and find a place she belongs.
Charli Blake and her best friend, Nicole, having been planning to travel and see the world once they graduate high school. She is so ready to escape and leave behind the small boring town of Piper Cove. Her love of surfing, beaches and photography have them set on places to go that will keep them near the ocean. But when a stranger comes barreling into her life for the first time she starts thinking about deviating from that plan.
Adam Décarie is a planner, a realist. He has his future already laid out. A last minute decision to take a chance leads him to Piper Cove to stay with his cousin, Gabrielle. He wasn't expecting fate to have another plan for him.
This was a really cute story. GJ Walker-Smith brings such a great story line with a very unique set of characters. Charli is hilarious and I couldn't help but instantly love her. Adam is such a ray of sunshine. He's smart, caring and loveable. I loved the close bond between Charli and her brother, Alex. He adores her and loves her whole heartedly. There are all sorts of colorful characters in this story.
I really enjoyed reading this. There were some emotional moments that had me tearing up a bit. The perfect amount of twist that were so unexpected it made it that much more enjoyable. I love a book that totally throws you off.
Secrets, lies, betrayals and a whole different world to venture. I was totally engrossed and had to finish in one sitting. I needed to know how it ended. Does Charli and Adam get their HEA? You will immediately want to jump right into the next book. Can't wait to see how this journey ends.
